Discover the world of people from the third age. Eight organizations from six countries interviewed people between 65 and over 100 years of age to find out more about their everyday life, hobbies, interests, difficulties and their past. What has influenced people, what moves them, how do you shape your life today?
On the map you can see where the 8 DENTA groups come from. From left to right:
Vannes, France ǀ Carbonia, Italy ǀ Frankfurt, Germany ǀ Ulm, Germany ǀ Belgrade, Serbia ǀ Timisoara, Romania ǀ Sofia, Bulgaria ǀ Ruse, Bulgaria
Each local DENTA group conducted up to 15 interviews during the project, wrote them down in the local language and translated them into English. The Learners groups discussed the selection of interviewees, methods for conducting the interviews, creative writing methods, etc. The groups also discussed and revised the interviews with each other. Together with other groups, in bi-national online meetings, the Learners discussed selected interviews and many other project-related topics.
From the interviews conducted, three were selected in each group and case study videos were created, making the lives of the interviewees more tangible through video scenes and pictures and giving a deeper insight into their daily lives, hobbies, interests, etc. Learners were assisted in the creation of the video. Simple subtitles promote the understanding.
Learners were supported and qualified in all these activities by qualification trainings by the board members who also coordinated and facilitated the groups.
A historical timeline was elaborated to give background information about the life of the interviewees. Historical events that directly or indirectly shaped the lives of the respondents were highlighted and briefly described. Socio-economic data from each country was also collected to show the context and situation of seniors in the partner countries.
To ensure that learners had access to all interviews during the project, the interviews were already published on a non-public page on the website before the final version was finally published.
